The Windmill Country Market

A Brant County destination for years, and the reason most guests never get in the car for breakfast. It's a two-minute walk from either home.

The Market sits at the edge of the village under a full-size windmill, and it does a lot of things at once: a restaurant that serves breakfast and a hot lunch, a bakery, a deli and a small grocery, an ice cream and coffee café, and a showroom of handcrafted furniture, giftware and home décor.

For guests it works like an extension of the house. Coffee and a pastry before the trail. Bread, cheese and a party tray for dinner in. Pies to take home. Ice cream on a hot afternoon.

Restaurant

Breakfast Wed–Sat, hot lunch Tue–Sat. The seating area is open all day for coffee, salads and sandwiches.

Bakery & deli

Fresh bread, pastries, pies to order, and a deli counter for meals in.

Ice cream & coffee café

Open Tue–Sat from 9:30. The sundae after the trail is a guest tradition.

Furniture & gifts

Handcrafted custom furniture, giftware and home décor. Worth a wander even if you're not buying.

Plan around it

Sunday and Monday, it's closed.

If breakfast at the Market is part of the plan, arrive Tuesday to Saturday. Both homes have full kitchens and a coffee maker for the days it isn't open, and Brantford is 15 minutes away.
